CAR BOOT SALE

IOn the 1st december 10am the centre hosts the Kaimhill playing fields residents association car boot sale.

The event aims to raise money for the residents associations efforts to build a large fence that will block the entrance to the football pitches and save them from cars, bikes and dog fouling.

This will preserve the kids football pitches for future generations.

NEW FITNESS ROOM TIMES AND LOCATION

We have relocated our fitness room to a slightly smaller but more comfortable space just off of the main corridor at the centre.

The fitness room is a free facility to all members of the centre and is open Monday to Friday from 10am-5pm and 6pm-10pm.

All you need to do is join the centre for £5 per year and feel free to attend as you wish. There is also a stereo in the room to play your music. There are treadmills, bikes, gliders and other machines, just the basics to get you fit.

In order to raise funds to finish off our 3 phases of the extension project we are holding a raffle that has loads of prizes. FINNIES THE JEWELLERS has donated a top quality ladies necklace as the main raffle prize.

Please support our raffle by donating a prize that will go a long way to supporting the centre.

GLOBAL EXCHANGE INITIATIVE

Inchgarth is about to take on board two young people working through the national global exchange program to work at the centre for 3 months. Their remint will be employability issues amongst young people foremost as well as adults.

The project brings students from the UK and Tanzania to work together to support local communities within each others countries.

We have set the students a project to support local young people back into work, training and voluntary work. They will also work with several local schools to promote positive community engagement.

We are delighted to be part of such an important impressive project.

This professional show had an amazing atmosphere, a licenced bar, food and bouts that were exciting to watch.

We raised £3000 at the bar which represented a healthy profit that went straight to our extension project.

Thanks to all of our staff and the guys from Aberdeen Muaythai based at Inchgarth for their hard work that ensured we had one of the best events ever hosted at Inchgarth.

400 people agreed the night was a huge success, look out for the next one in April 2010.

FRIDAY SOCIAL DAYS FOR PENSIONERS AND PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

Every Friday from 1.30-3.30pm we run our social entertainment afternoon for people with learning, physical or mental health issues. This project is also for senior citizens.

This F R E E project is an ideal chance for people to have fun, socialiase, meet new people and enjoy a cuppa and fine piece, All free and paid for by the city council's social care fund. Inchgarth cc also sponsor the project.

If people normally have support workers we expect this practice to be adhered to while people visit Inchgarth, we do not have staff to support people while they attend.

For people that are pretty much independant we would still require contact information and if our staff feel that the person really does need support while at Inchgarth we would contact the service provider to support their client.

DROP IN SESSIONS FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES  and OUR POLICY ON ACCESS TO THE CENTRE

Inchgarth has excellent facilities that can be accessed by people with disabilities in order to enjoy accessing mainstream activities and promote inclusion.

We ask that support workers accompany people in order to give that little bit of support.

Monday to friday 10am-3pm, cost £1.00

WE MUST ALSO STRESS THAT AT ALL TIMES PEOPLE WHO HAVE SUPPORT NEEDS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A SUPPORT WORKER.

WE DO NOT HAVE STAFF TO SUPPORT PEOPLE'S NEEDS AND CANNOT ACCEPT THE RESPONSIBILITY TO SUPPORT PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS.
